Founder’s Scholarship
Founder’s Scholarship has been established to honor three Sensei who were instrumental in the formation and development of the MWKF; Izui Sensei, Matsumoto Sensei and Maeda Sensei.
Scholarships will be awarded for a deserving male and female Kenshi along with a third award for a young Kenshi (male or female). Each will be afforded an opportunity to participate in the MWKF annual Summer Camp free of charge.
Also a $500 stipend will be awarded to assist in offsetting expenditures for the awarded Kenshi. (Submission of an expense report and documentation is required)
Any MWKF Kenshi below the rank of 4-Dan and who are currently a member of both AUSKF and MWKF are eligible to be awarded a Scholarship. Please fill out the form below and include a brief essay as to why you think you are deserving of the scholarship - limit to 600 words!
Scholarship Awards are as follows:
Izui Sensei Scholarship: Male Kenshi (17 years old and above)
Matsumoto Sensei Scholarship: Female Kenshi (17 years old and above)
Maeda Sensei Scholarship: Young Adult Male/Female (under 16 years old)
Application Submission Period: Open 5/6/2025 - 6/14/2025. The announcement of the awardees will take place on 6/16/2025.
